Delete Account and Data
This page explains the permanent account-deletion path, what happens to team-owned data, and where to download exports before you continue.

Data exports
Before you continue, download anything you want to keep from your personal export and any team exports you are allowed to access right now.
You can download your personal export first from the account data page. Team-wide exports remain separate and are available only to current team admins.
Team admins should download any team-wide exports they need before deleting the admin account.
Trackable export files now include direct journey stops, note-backed journey snapshots, anonymous-versus-authenticated flags, and the related trackable comment history that is still within your export scope.
Trackable export files now separate journey stops from the note-link records that explain which notes were in scope. The stop preserves the historical coordinate snapshot even when today's visible note list changes later.
When images are within your export scope, the export records their GUID-backed metadata and the parent content they belong to. Team-owned images stay inside the team scope instead of becoming part of one person's personal-only deletion scope.

What is deleted
After deletion, your account sign-in, linked providers, synced personal notes, personal categories, and profile settings are removed from the server.
- Your LocationNotes account.
- Linked sign-in providers attached to that account.
- Synced personal notes and personal categories owned only by that account.
- Personally controlled image records and their stored resized copies when those images belong only to personal content that is removed with the account.
What is not automatically deleted
Team notes are not automatically deleted just because the contributor account is deleted. Once a note belongs to a team, it remains available to that team while the team exists, subject to team visibility and admin controls.
- If you owned team categories on a team that still has active admins or members, those team categories are reassigned so the team can keep working.
- Trackables are not deleted just because one account is deleted. The system removes the deleted user's personal trackable activity where possible, but shared activity from other people stays in place.
- If another person or team still has activity on a trackable, that trackable remains in the system even after one contributor deletes their account.
- If a trackable is team-owned, that team keeps the trackable while the team exists.
- Images attached to surviving team-owned content or other surviving shared records are not automatically removed just because one contributor account is deleted.
- If a team is deleted, team-owned trackables can fall back to the activating user so the item does not become orphaned.
- If a team admin removes a team note and the creator account still exists, the note becomes a personal note and keeps its prior public or private visibility.
- If the creator account has already been deleted, the note remains team-owned with no original creator.
- If a team is deleted, team memberships and team-only categories are deleted at that time.
- If a team is later deleted, notes with an existing creator convert back to personal notes and keep their prior public or private visibility.
- If a team is deleted after the original creator is gone, ownerless team notes are deleted at that time.
Trackable deletion details
Trackables can be shared across many notes, many users, and many teams over time, so account deletion is handled differently from a simple personal-only record. The goal is to remove the deleted user's removable personal activity without corrupting the remaining shared history for everyone else.
- If a deleted user was the only person with relevant removable personal activity on a personally controlled trackable, the service may be able to remove that personal activity completely.
- If the trackable still has location history, comments, or other activity from another user or a team, the trackable itself may remain in the system.
- Signed-in direct location reports created by the deleted user can be removed while the shared trackable itself remains. Note-backed journey stops may remain when the shared trackable history still needs to stay intact.
- When a note-backed journey snapshot remains, it keeps the earlier recorded stop even if the related note had later moved before deletion.
- Anonymous trackable comments and anonymous direct reports are not tied to a LocationNotes account, so account deletion does not automatically remove them. The controlling owner or team admins can still moderate them.
- If the deleted user activated a trackable to a team, that team remains the ownership scope while the team exists.
- If the controlling team is deleted, the product can fall back to the activating user when the ownership rules for that trackable allow it.
- Deleting your account does not give you the right to erase another person's shared trackable history, team trackable records, or team-admin moderation trail.
